Adding Distance Skills to Your Handling System (Intermediate and Above)

Tuesday, October 29, 2024    1:00pm - 4:30pm

  • Description: Having good distance skills in agility is a game-changer for many handlers.  Good distance allows you to get to technical spots quicker and to clearly set correct lines for your dog. Learn techniques to build distance and confidence.

  • Focus: Short sequences to build skills and timing, finding the "sweet spot" for training (which is the difficulty level that is reasonable for each dog), and testing new skills on longer sequences.

Coursework to Build Skills (Masters Level)

Wednesday, October 30, 2024    8:30am - 12:00pm

  • Description: Work on courses with a variety of handling options, including some backside jumps. Try different options to see what works best for your team.  This is a great workshop for handlers who like to add new skills to their handling system.  Barb has experience both as a hard running world team member and working from a scooter and at a walk when recovering from surgeries.

  • Focus: Exploring various handling options and refining techniques to work for individual handlers and dog teams.
